I’m usually not a big sap, but whenever I watch the movie UP, it
makes me really sad. Not just because Carl loses Ellie, but because it
makes me think of what it would be like to lose my significant other.
How anything from baking bread to knitting to wandering around town
would make me think about her. I wouldn’t be able to do those things
anymore, because it would hurt too much. Even though Carl is fictional, I
admire his strength to live out his and Ellie’s dream, knowing she
isn’t there to enjoy it with him.
